Triceratops is one of the most recognisable dinosaurs ever discovered and one of the last to walk the Earth before the mass extinction event. Its three horns and large bony frill made it a formidable opponent even for T. Rex. Fossil evidence suggests the two species regularly clashed, with healed bite marks found on Triceratops bones.

Key fact
Its frill was probably brightly coloured and used for display and recognition, not just defence.
